Bethany Conte
Fine artist, graphic and web designer.
A 2005 graduate of Salem College, Bethany earned a BA in Studio Art with a double concentration in graphic design and oil painting.
She has most recently shown at Hawthorne Gallery, Winston-Salem, NC - in a group exhibition running through January 15th, 2010. She previously showed In May 2009 at the annual OneWay Antiques Show & Sale in King, NC.
Last year, the artist enjoyed a successful show which generated sales and a commission. The artist will stay busy creating a new body of work while completing freelance graphic and web design projects.

Barbara J. Hackworth
The purpose of the series just completed by Barbara is to impact the viewer with the high contrast of light and shadow --- to pause, and wonder the medium. Is it really a water-colour?, yes it really is, explains Barbara: paintings evoked by emotion, possibly the result of fragmented memories, plucked from time past that the viewer recalls, how they may have rung that old bell or rode the bicycle down a country lane. Or could it be the texture of the wood that once comprised the barn where they worked and played?
The body of this work is water-colour on Strathmore 500 series, 4 ply illustration board, which proved the perfect support for the series
