Giving Back, Moving Forward
Peggy, who earned the top prize in her
major during her senior year - the "President's Prize" - names fellow students
(Stephanie, Amy, Pink, Tonnie and Lisa) as significant in helping her meet her
senior show deadline. What did they do? Well, they asked the right
questions of her, they carried the right materials to help her in
building her display for the senior thesis show, they provided coffee
and the snacks.
Peggy wants to do the same and more. Now that she
has been out in the marketplace with her credentials in hand, she has
begun to glean even more what the professionals are really looking
for. She wants those who are following her to have the benefit of what
she is continuing to learn.
Peggy says that the way to success is
through collaboration. That is the Sisters' belief as well. It is in
the development of a caring community and in a belief in supporting one
another and sharing ideas that individuals and groups succeed.
This is what Peggy says --- so well --- about Giving Back, Moving Forward:
Acting
as a conduit into best practices, lessons learned, time management and
codes analysis is what I believe are important to my mentoring of
others. The students have the technical skills, the creativity and the
drive to be successful. I'm just a vehicle to help make it all come
together.......... Had I not had support and coaching from peers I
would not have been successful.
Professors, even the best of them
can only be one person......It's up to each of us to pay it forward and
give back to assist others in achieving their dreams. For more
