THE FIRST AWARD OF THE ALICE CONGER PATTERSON
SCHOLARSHIP WENT TO MANDY PELLETIER!
Mandy was honored at a November 13th, 2008 reception hosted by Sisterlynk member, Linda Crumpler. Mandy attends Salem College and was so appreciative of the support given to her to continue her education at Salem College. The generous donations given in honor of the former Dean of Continuing Studies - Alice Conger Patterson- served as the base for this wonderful opportunity to support a woman reaching for her dream....attending the college of her choice to better her and her family's future.
SisterLynk President Vicki Carr introduced Pelletier to SisterLynk members and scholarship donors invited to a reception to honor the Salem College student selected by the Winston-Salem Foundation as the first recipient of the Patterson scholarship.
The scholarship was created as the first act of a group of alumnae and friends who wanted to honor Patterson after she left the college in February 2007 after 14 years as Dean of the Salem College Continuing Studies program for adults age 23 and older who wanted to attend the historic women's college. Sisterlynk is proud to have been able to contribute toward Mandy's dream! |
